In this sense, Durand’s literature was a pioneer in the construction of representations of the subjects involved in the border society, but with an integrationist intentionality to the Chilean state and marked by a naturalization of social inequalities based on gender, race and class factors. La visión en torno a la sociedad agraria de comienzos del siglo XX, a partir de una relación entre literatura e historiografía, es el tema de discusión del presente artículo. A partir de un análisis crítico de la obra del escritor chileno Luis Durand se puede constatar que el autor anticipa a problemáticas estudiadas posterioremente por la historiografía sobre la Araucanía.
