The director was away, the school went through a sort of interstitial between the old rule and what was to come. The rite has become collective. Occurring public expression and symbolic reconciliation between the parties to the conflict to reconstruction, at least temporarily, the social fabric frayed. At the end prevailed code based on charisma and moral judgments. With that, the drama did not produce a break, but consolidated the traditionally existing rules that school.

No trabalho de campo, realizado em uma escola estadual da zona sul do Rio, foi utilizada a perspectiva de análise de Victor Turner, a partir do conceito de drama social. Um evento extraordinário rompeu as relações reguladas pela norma iniciando o drama. Na crise desencadeada tornaram-se claras as linhas de força que estruturavam as relações sociais no interior da escola e desta com a Secretaria de Estado de Educação do Rio de Janeiro. O diretor foi afastado, a escola passou por um uma espécie de interstício entre a antiga norma e a que estava por vir. O rito tornou-se coletivo. Ocorrendo a expressão pública e simbólica da reconciliação entre as partes envolvidas no conflito com a reconstituição, ao menos temporária, do tecido social esgarçado. Ao final prevaleceu o código baseado no carisma e nos julgamentos morais.
