The exploratory research was carried out in repositories of theses and dissertations of a University of São Paulo, and six dissertations were selected, whose contents were analyzed. The result of this survey is capable of revealing aspects such as: the trajectory of the conquest of the right to education, xenophobic practices, relations between immigrant and national students, the perspective of teachers. These are works that include the short stays and breaks promoted by the presence of immigrant students in schools. |

The result of this survey is capable of revealing aspects such as: the trajectory of the conquest of the right to education, xenophobic practices, relations between immigrant and national students, the perspective of teachers. These are works that include the short stays and breaks promoted by the presence of immigrant students in schools. Neste artigo analisamos o campo teórico da Educação para Imigrantes através da produção acadêmica relacionada à área com o objetivo de desvelar quais os principais desafios, as barreiras e as possibilidades que a presença imigrante desperta no debate educacional. A pesquisa exploratória foi realizada em repositórios de teses e dissertações de universidade paulistas, sendo selecionadas seis dissertações, cujos conteúdos foram analisados. O resultado desse levantamento é capaz de desvelar aspectos como: a trajetória da conquista do direito à educação, as práticas xenofóbicas, as relações entre os estudantes imigrantes e os nacionais, a perspectiva dos professores.
