El presente artículo desarrolla un abordaje conceptual e histórico de los Estudios Locos, tradición investigativa que reconoce la locura como una experiencia válida y significativa para generar saberes críticos frente al discurso psiquiátrico. En este marco, se describen experiencias de producción de conocimiento “loco” que cuestionan la pretensión de objetividad y neutralidad del modelo biomédico en salud mental. A su vez, se analizan las contribuciones de las metodologías críticas y el enfoque de investigación militante en los debates recientes en torno a la articulación de teoría y praxis comprometida.
