Sumario:Police violence is a problem scarcely addressed by the Argentine reference media and, frequently, by communication studies in the country. This article aims to analyze the ways in which a sector of the Argentine hegemonic press produces news about the subject, placing special emphasis on the meanings built on the victim-victimizer pair. From a qualitative approach based on content analysis, e a group of news regarding violent police interventions between 2020 and 2021 is analyzed. Two types of frames present in the information are found:  "insecurity" and "victims in focus". Both frameworks allow observing how a logic of differential victimization or selectivity of the victims operates discursively, because of particular modes of construction and interpretation of the facts in the media, as well as trace possible effects of the sense of legitimation or discursive delegitimization of the violent actions of the Police.
