In this article I am interested in exposing the tensions that exist in the normative frameworks that regulate the life and right to education of prisoners and their distance from the extreme living conditions of Buenos Aires prisons. I will analyze the value given to the concept of good conduct upheld in Law 24.660 / 96 to advance prison treatment and its tensions through an ethnographic approach of a literacy workshop held in 2017 in Penitentiary Unit 47. The results of the investigation allow us to affirm that the high rates of registered overcrowding make order, discipline, and coexistence impossible within prison establishments, and intensify the difficulties of access and the permanence of the participants in the educational space. |

En este artículo se abordan las tensiones en los marcos normativos que regulan la vida y el derecho a la educación de las personas privadas de libertad y su distancia respecto a las extremas condiciones de vida en las cárceles de Buenos Aires . En particular, se analiza el valor otorgado al concepto de buena conducta, sostenido en la Ley 24.660/96 de Ejecución de la Pena Privativa de la Libertad, para reflexionar sobre el tratamiento penitenciario y sus tensiones, mediante el abordaje etnográfico de un taller de alfabetización realizado en el año 2017 en la Unidad Penitenciaria 47. Los resultados de la investigación permiten afirmar que los elevados índices de sobrepoblación registrados imposibilitan el orden, la disciplina y la convivencia dentro de los establecimientos penitenciarios e intensifican las dificultades de acceso y la permanencia de los participantes en el espacio educativo. Neste artigo, estou interessado em retomar as tensões que existem nos marcos normativos que regulam a vida e o direito à educação das pessoas privadas de liberdade e seu distanciamento das condições de vida extremas das prisões de Buenos Aires. Em particular, pretendo analisar o valor atribuído ao conceito de boa conduta sustentado na Lei 24.660 / 96 sobre a Execução da Pena para antecipar o tratamento penitenciário e sua tensão em relação à explosão da Unidade Penitenciária em que procedi minha investigação.
