| Sumario: | The possibilities that the soybean culture offers to the Province of Mendoza, and the advantages in starting the cultivation of the new varieties herein described, wich offer in our opinion the best possibilities from the horticultural point of view, are noted. Their cultivation is recommended in experimental as well as in home orchard scale.
The characteristics and behavior of ten new soybean cultivars, obtained in Mendoza (Argentine Republic) namely: Mensoy 1, Mensoy 2, Mensoy 3, Mensoy 4, Mensoy 5, Mensoy 6, Mensoy 7, Mensoy 8, Mensoy 9, and Mensoy 10, are given. The cultivar Mensoy 1 is adapted for fodder production or to be used as a green manure. The others have an industrial application or are suitable man's food. Mensoy 9 is regarded exclusively as an horticultural variety.
The results of the last comparative trial of yielding are reported. The cultivars Mensoy 6, Mensoy 7 and Mensoy 2 are pointed out because of significant differences.
Observations on pests and diseases, wich attack the soybean crops in Mendoza, as well as seeding dates and presence of root knot without previous innoculation are given as a complementary note.
