Se estudia la influencia que tiene la profundidad de estratificación en estacas de Vitis vinifera cv. Malbec sobre la anterior capacidad de enraizamiento. El ensayo se llevó a cabo en condiciones naturales de campo, a profundidades de 5, 10, 20, 50 y 100 cm, determinándose semanalmente la humedad edáfica para cada una de ellas; la temperatura se determinó tres veces por día durante los 63 días que duró la experiencia. Se encontró que las estacas estratificadas entre 20 y 50 cm de profundidad manifiestan la máxima capacidad de enraizamiento. Se atribuye a la tensión de oxígeno existente a dichas profundidades el hecho de favorecer el crecimiento anticipado de las yemas, las cuales, al constituir los principales centros de abastecimiento de auxinas y otros factores de enraizamiento, promoverían una mayor rizogénesis.
