| Sumario: | In all societies the religious systems have tried to clear fundamental questions for the social-political order, like the origin, the last goal, the sense of existence, and the identity of human beings. This text aims to remember some important aspects about this theme which are still acute, like the relevance of religious phenomena relative to environmental protection (as they appear in the Biblical Genesis), the necessity of love and solidarity in social relations (according to the theory of G. W. F. Hegel), and in the foundation of a comprehensive and lasting idea of justice (according to the theory of Jürgen Habermas). The core of the great religions is bound to the ideal of reconciliation of the human beings with themselves and with nature.
