Sumario: | This paper shows the behavior of total factor productivity (TFP) in the commercial sector during the period 2011-. 2012 in Popayan. A survey was carried out through a MAS applied to companies registered in the Cauca Chamber of Commerce. Beginning with a Cobb-Douglas production function, and estimating capital based on Lora (1994), the results show that microenterprises and small businesses, that are responsible for the greatest net investment and job creation, present constant returns to scale. Medium and large companies that show increases in TFP during the period, show diminishing returns to scale. |
