description Building a Plural and Heterodox Approach on Economics as a discipline, undergoes today through great difficulties in the global academic world. Despite the 2008´s economic crisis of the Western World and its collapse during the Covid-19 pandemic, teaching economics remains in essence the same, gravitating around the orthodox neoclassical paradigm, accompanied by the same econometric techniques. Colombia is no exception to this trend, given the predominant political regime and the economic accumulation process that has not changed yet since the 90s, despite the beginning today of a left-center government. Herewith the reasons for a plural and heterodox approach on Economics are analyzed, its theoretical and practical difficulties are assessed including its challenges, followed by the pondering of the specific circumstances in Colombia and concluding at the end with suggestions.
