The purpose of this article is to review the arguments of different authors and propose a classification of concepts in various conceptual lines of thought on CSR: 1. from business strategy as a basis for competitiveness, 2. from ethics and civil rights of stakeholders 3. The political power of enterprises or interference on societv and 4. Los conceptos de RSE están basados en el pensamiento clásico de la ética y del comportamiento humano, sin embargo, existe una diversidad de conceptos y definiciones de la RSE de pensadores modernos que luego del naciente poderío de las corporaciones en el contexto internacional y ante la preocupación de la sociedad ante sus nuevos roles empezaron a investigar sobre el verdadero papel de la empresa en la sociedad. El propósito de este artículo es revisar de forma cronológica los argumentos de diferentes autores y luego clasificar los conceptos en varias líneas conceptuales de pensamiento sobre RSE: 1. desde la estrategia empresarial como fundamento de la competitividad, 2. desde la ética y los derechos civiles de las partes interesadas; 3. desde el poder político de las empresas e injerencia sobre la sociedad y 4. desde las relaciones sociales como el papel asumido por la empresa como ciudadana corporativa.Palabras Clave: Responsabilidad Social Empresarial, Globalización, Ética de los negocios.
