Sumario:Taking measures which tend to regulate labor and economic activities as well as the greater mobility of economic factors resulting of better means of transportation and communication have generated a gradual reduction process within the disparities of labor market among Colombian regions reflected in lower unemployment rates in metropolitan areas during the last decade. This generalized phenomenon allows us to suggest a hypothesis of a convergence process leading toward a steady state where all the unemployment rates show a similar growth. Concerning this previous statement, this article makes a convergence study applied to the Colombian unemployment issue, where convergence measures are used, as -convergence and -convergence, supplemented by a Co-integration study using the Johansen’s method, with the aim of checking if such phenomenon persists in the long run.Key Words: Unemployment, convergence, macroeconomics, labor market, unemployment rate, -convergence, -convergence, Johansen’s Co-integration method
