Escribir la historia del Programa de Administración Industrial, representó un gran reto para los investigadores, el cual se alcanzó con el documento titulado: “Desarrollo Educativo del Programa de Administración Industrial de la Universidad de Cartagena (1996 – 2009)”; en éste se identifican cuáles han sido los factores de éxito del programa y a qué se le debe apostar para seguir mejorando. Además se lograron identificar cinco factores clave para el futuro desarrollo del programa: la visión de liderazgo, la identidad del programa, el emprendimiento, la internacionalización de la docencia, la investigación y la extensión y el compromiso con la calidad. La investigación se enmarcó en el método histórico – hermenéutico; como estrategias metodológicas se emplearon: la entrevista semiestructurada, el análisis de documentos y el estudio de historias de vida. Para el análisis de la información se utilizó el software Atlas Ti.
