In addition, they identified five key factors for the future development of the program: leadership vision, the identity of the program, entrepreneurship, internationalization of teaching, research and extension and commitment to quality. The research was part of the historical method - hermeneutical and methodological strategies were used: semistructured interview, document analysis and study of life histories. For the data analysis was used Atlas Ti software.

For the data analysis was used Atlas Ti software.  Escribir la historia del Programa de Administración Industrial, representó un gran reto para los investigadores, el cual se alcanzó con el documento titulado: “Desarrollo Educativo del Programa de Administración Industrial de la Universidad de Cartagena (1996 – 2009)”; en éste se identifican cuáles han sido los factores de éxito del programa y a qué se le debe apostar para seguir mejorando. Además se lograron identificar cinco factores clave para el futuro desarrollo del programa: la visión de liderazgo, la identidad del programa, el emprendimiento, la internacionalización de la docencia, la investigación y la extensión y el compromiso con la calidad. La investigación se enmarcó en el método histórico – hermenéutico; como estrategias metodológicas se emplearon: la entrevista semiestructurada, el análisis de documentos y el estudio de historias de vida.
