Sumario:The rapid growth of markets for goods and services in international economies and the consequent demands for new and better optimal solutions for facilitating trade, are widening the economic gap between regions. The capacity of a territory is being analyzed with the ultimate aim of identifying strengths and make changes in those elements essential to lessen the gap and contribute to its development. In this process, involving mobility infrastructure as a condition for increasing both competitiveness and the development of a territory has been the subject of ongoing debate, although with varying positions. This paper presents a review of the most important positions on the mobility infrastructure and its impact on economic development and competitiveness of a territory. An analysis of academic articles and reports consulted could establish the relationship between mobility infrastructure to economic development of a country and its competitiveness, based on availability, the impact on transportation costs, connectivity and accessibility of routes and modes of transport systems, land morphology and location of the business. This review concluded the improvement of existing infrastructure or building a new endogenous dynamics can be promoted in the territory, with trend growth and economic development that will allow likewise enhance their capacity to respond to international competitive requirements.
