Sumario:One of the approaches to address the crisis of the Welfare State in the 1980s is the so-called Pluralist Approach, which proposes a partial replacement of existing official services, resulting in a mixed system in which the State would be less dominant. In this sense, other agents acquire a greater role in the management of social policies and services, such as: a) Civil Society, represented by institutions such as the Family, b) Market (capitalist firms and social market economy) and c) the so-called Third Sector. Based on a bibliographic analysis, we draw the main contributions that these institutions can make to face the current problems of the Welfare State, as well as the decentralization of social policies, with special attention to the contributions of the Social Economy.
