Sumario:This article aims to analyze the extent to which monetary policy focused mainly on controlling the behavior of inflation in the last three decades 1980 - 2010, has helped to improve the levels of equity in Colombia. To achieve this, use of the observation of the path of the variables involved in the research problem becomes, detailing its tendency in each of the periods studied, and by the contrast with the behavior of other endogenous variables to the model. One of the key findings in this document relates to the success of monetary policy in Colombia during the study period, according to the goals and objectives raised by the monetary authority. However, another result accounts for the failure of economic policy on equity.
