Los cambios en las nociones de mejoramiento de las condiciones de vida de las personas, principalmente en el siglo XX, han traído aparejados el surgimiento de varios conceptos como desarrollo, bienestar y crecimiento económico. Estos tres enfoques suelen tomarse como sinónimos, sin embargo, son concepciones que parten de contextos distintos y que fueron desarrollados bajo una lógica diferente. En este artículo se discuten los abordajes que se le han dado a tales perspectivas y los desafíos a los cuales se enfrentan si se pretenden tomar como iguales.
