It is important to take a look at the degree of exploitation of the potential of ICT and digital communication, to mitigate the humanitarian problems posed by today's societies. Este artículo pretende hacer una revisión del impacto que han tenido las TIC en nuestra sociedad y su aporte al mejoramiento de las condiciones humanas en la era actual. Se abordarán las problemáticas alrededor de la libertad de acceso a la información y la democratización en la construcción de contenidos, mediados por la confiabilidad y privacidad de la información. Es importante dar una mirada al grado de aprovechamiento de las potencialidades de las TIC y en general de la comunicación digital, para mitigar las problemáticas humanitarias que presentan las sociedades actuales.
