Con titulares que le dan a la tragedia humana un aire de jocosidad y cotidianidad, el Q’Hubo, periódico propiedad de la casa Editorial El País, se ha fortalecido como uno de los tabloides más vendidos en el país y por ende en Cali y Palmira, logrando atrapar a sus lectores con noticias de orden judicial, historias locales y de ciudadanos del común; notas periodísticas que con una jerga popular acaparan la atención en torno a dramas familiares. Pero ¿por qué un periodista tiñe el dolor de una muerte o acontecimiento desastroso con una jerga jocosa y de doble sentido? ¿Por qué convertir hechos judiciales aislados en noticia portada de un periódico de circulación masiva? Lo que se pretende con esta investigación es tratar de identificar y explicar, en caso de que suceda así, cómo las lógicas de producción informativa de este periódico y las lógicas de mercado propias de la casa Editorial de El País y del proyecto editorial de Q’Hubo, inciden en la cultura profesional de los periodistas dedicados a cubrir hechos violentos o de orden público (notas judiciales), concibiendo este diario como masivo popular.
