Sumario: | There is the notion that peace and development are positively correlated, that peace drives development and that development drives peace, for Galtung (1985: 147) Peace and Development should be regarded as two sides of the same coin and considers development in relation to peace. This paper shows that peace and development are uncorrelated in several countries where there is peace without development or development without peace. The use of quantitative models as a tool for the analysis is a plus for the findings because most of the related theories are qualitative. |
