description The aim of this article is to explain how the motivational factor is a key strategy for the business world; for what the working conditions of the nineteenth century (1801-1900) and the structural changes that have been generated at the organizational level and human resources are considered. Additionally, here it is analyzed if the salary (monetary compensation) is the only motivational factor itself or integrated with other variables, it is possible to have a highly motivated staff, thus becoming a competitive advantage for the organization.

El objetivo de este artículo es explicar cómo el factor motivacional es una estrategia clave para el mundo empresarial actual; para lo que se consideran las condiciones laborales del siglo XIX (1801-1900) y los cambios estructurales que se han generado a nivel organizacional y del recurso humano. Adicionalmente, se analiza si el salario (compensación monetaria) es el único factor motivacional o sí integrado con otras variables, se logra tener un personal altamente motivado, convirtiéndose de esta manera en una ventaja competitiva para la organización.
