description The issue of technological consumption by young people of this time is a challenge for teachers, since they are the ones who can transform the minds of students based on the common good of society. Therefore, the objective of this article is to make a theoretical analysis that allows educators to reflect on the educational responsibility they have before young consumers of technology without a pedagogical purpose. There is an urgent need for the teacher to be updated in the technological field, because the virtual world plays an important role in the daily lives of children and young people. That is why the teacher must raise awareness of the ways in which this means of communication is used, in order to put it at the service of knowledge. The starting point of this work is the establishment by UNESCO of competency standards in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) for teachers, as this professional is the most suitable for transmitting to students the notions and skills capabilities to access the mass of information provided by the Internet.

El tema del consumo tecnológico de los jóvenes de esta época es un desafío para los docentes, pues estos son los que pueden lograr que se transforme la mente de los estudiantes en función del bien común de la sociedad. Por ello, el objetivo de este artículo es hacer un análisis teórico que permita a los educadores reflexionar sobre la responsabilidad educativa que tienen ante los jóvenes consumidores de tecnología sin una finalidad pedagógica. Existe la urgente necesidad de que el docente esté actualizado en el campo tecnológico, porque el mundo virtual cumple un importante papel en la vida cotidiana de los niños y jóvenes. Por eso el docente debe hacer concienciación de las maneras en que se usa ese medio de comunicación, a fin de ponerlo al servicio del conocimiento. El punto de partida del presente trabajo es el establecimiento por parte de la UNESCO de los estándares de competencia en Tecnologías de la Información y Comunicación (TIC) para los docentes, por ser este profesional el más idóneo para transmitir a los estudiantes las nociones y las capacidades para acceder a la masa informativa que suministra el Internet.
