Today humanity is facing various problems of social nature; the absence of values and its practice are a precedent favoring the imbalance of a society. The school must foment education based on Peace and for Peace, forming an independent citizen with civic values, who can assume the commitment, the responsibility and the right that one has to live in a society without hatreds, divisions nor violence. Situations of violence and coexistence in schools, require finding out strategies in the school everyday life. Everyday social violence affects school daily activities through various manifestations of acts of violence.

El presente trabajo parte de dos objetivos: el primero, identificar los tipos de violencia escolar más habituales en la educación secundaria de Palmira (Colombia) y establecer el tipo de violencia que reflejan la descomposición de la sociedad actual. Actualmente la humanidad afronta diversos problemas de índole social, la ausencia de valores y su práctica son un precedente que favorece el desequilibrio de una sociedad. La escuela debe fomentar una educación para la paz, formando un ciudadano autónomo y con valores cívicos, que asuma el compromiso, la responsabilidad y el derecho que tiene de vivir en una sociedad sin odios, divisiones ni violencia. Las situaciones de violencia social que se viven a nivel cotidiano en la sociedad repercuten en el contexto cotidiano escolar a través de distintas manifestaciones de hechos de violencia.
