description In this research, the problem of bullying in the university context related to the components of emotional intelligence was studied in 46 university students in an age range of 18 to 25 years, who met bullying characteristics of a private university in Palmira, Valle. The methodology used to carry out the investigation was quantitative-deductive, from which three hypotheses were raised. The depth of the study was non-experimental, cross-correlational. Intentional or convenience non-probabilistic sampling was performed. Two instruments were used for the measurement, the PLV questionnaire for the measurement of bullying and the TMMS-24 for the measurement of emotional intelligence. A bivariate analysis was performed with the chi-square correlation coefficient. The null hypothesis was accepted as results, since the results showed that there is no statistically significant correlation between the two variables, on the contrary, they are completely independent.
