Thus, an attempt is made to analyze how the capacity of these productive units was used to strengthen and finance the armies in the field through the provision of foot of force, provisions and manpower for infrastructure works. In the end, it was observed how these epicenters of production showed a state of devastation as a product of the prolonged war that was lived in these lands of the west and south of Colombia. |

En el marco de la conmemoración del Bicentenario de la Independencia de Colombia, este artículo examina la contribución de las haciendas y de las minas esclavistas de las provincias de Chocó y Popayán durante el proceso de Independencia, tanto en el bando republicano como en el bando español. Así entonces, se intenta analizar cómo se utilizó la capacidad de estas unidades productivas para fortalecer y financiar los ejércitos en campaña mediante el aporte de pie de fuerza, provisiones y mano de obra para obras de infraestructura. Al final, se observó cómo estos epicentros de producción mostraban un estado de devastación como producto de la guerra prolongada que se vivió en estas tierras del occidente y sur de Colombia.
