Sumario:Within the social framework, the violence present in the context of the Colombian territory, is hopelessly defined as the most significant conflict factor among the population; from macro controversies such as armed conflict and forced displacement, to the detection of intrafamilial situations of the common people. In the case of this research, relating to the qualitative paradigm, in addition to visualizing the significance of violence under the previous examples, it was looking to explore the conception of the maternal role through two narrative analyzes, emphasizing on recognizing the resilience present in their process of transformation, and in its construction of life. Based on the analysis and theoretical contrast, the existence of the concept of resilience present in two mothers, householder mothers, belonging to a protection institution, of the city of Palmira (Valle del Cauca) was recognized, concluding its status quo on his evolutionary process in his maternal role, for which she could adapt to the new norms and conditions, but also to the new abilities, with the aim of obtaining a better future for her family.
