Sumario:The article analyzes the incorporation of multiculturalism by the Mexican State, closely observing how the organization influences and patterns within indigenous communities, closely analyzing the case of the Cuahtamazaco community in the State of Puebla, Mexico. The paper observes how the essentialist discourse of multiculturalism is confronted with the needs of change in gender relations that Nahua indigenous women want to give to their culture and identity.
