El presente artículo tiene como objetivo el estudio iconográfico de las composiciones pictóricas de las urnas funerarias de la fase Napo (1168-1480 D.C.) enmarcada dentro de la amplia tradición Polícroma Amazónica. Esta aproximación iconográfica se complementa con una metodología semiótica y etnoarqueológica, las mismas que permitieron la identificación de patrones específicos en la construcción de estos diseños. Estas figuraciones intrínsecas a una “estética Napo” pueden ser entendidas como un sistema de comunicación visual sobre la estructuración artística de esta fase arqueológica.
