description This article presents the results regarding the issue of education from the “Survey on living conditions and infant care during the preventative and obligatory social isolation of COVID-19.” This survey was filled out by a sample of families (n=4,008), whose children were in three levels of public (62.6%) and private (37.4%) education in three districts of the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. According to the results, the majority of the families sustained communication with the educational institutions; however, cases in which difficulties manifested were linked to limitations in connectivity or lack of technological apparatuses (above all, in public schools). Due to this, the interactions among teachers and students were limited, without the possibility of establishing synchronic communications, which made it difficult to carry out high-quality virtual education over a prolonged period, an impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Finally, this article concludes by highlighting the limitations and reach of the study in order to analyze issues relating to educational equity and thus contribute to the possibility of designing policies that improve educational access.

En este artículo se presentan los resultados de la dimensión educación de la “Encuesta condiciones de vida y cuidados a la infancia durante el aislamiento social preventivo y obligatorio (ASPO) por covid-19”. Dicha encuesta fue respondida por una muestra (n=4008) de familias, cuyos niños, niñas y adolescentes cursan grados correspondientes a los tres niveles educativos del ámbito público (62,6 %) y privado (37,4 %), de tres distritos de la provincia de Buenos Aires, Argentina. Según lo relevado, la mayor parte de las familias mantuvieron comunicación con las instituciones educativas, no obstante, en los casos en que se manifestaron dificultades, estas se vincularon a limitaciones de conectividad o a la falta de dispositivos tecnológicos (sobre todo en escuelas del ámbito público). Debido a ello, la interacción entre docentes y alumnado se vio limitada sin la posibilidad de establecer comunicaciones sincrónicas, lo cual dificultó llevar adelante una modalidad de educación virtual de calidad durante un tiempo tan prolongado, como el impuesto por la pandemia de la covid-19. Finalmente, en este artículo se concluye señalando limitaciones y alcances de la investigación con el fin de analizar aspectos ligados a la equidad educativa y contribuir, de este modo, a la posibilidad de diseñar políticas que impliquen mejoras en el acceso a la educación. Este artigo apresenta os resultados da dimensão educativa do “Inquérito às condições de vida e cuidados às crianças durante o isolamento social preventivo e obrigatório (ASPO) devido à covid-19”. A referida pesquisa foi respondida por uma amostra (n=4008) de famílias, cujas crianças e adolescentes frequentam séries correspondentes aos três níveis educacionais das esferas pública (62,6%) e privada (37,4%), de três distritos da província de Buenos Aires, Argentina. Segundo o que foi pesquisado, a maioria das famílias mantinha comunicação com as instituições de ensino, porém, nos casos em que se manifestavam dificuldades, estas estavam ligadas a limitações de conectividade ou à falta de aparatos tecnológicos (principalmente em escolas públicas). Devido a isso, a interação entre professores e alunos ficou limitada, sem a possibilidade de estabelecer comunicações síncronas, o que dificultou a realização de uma modalidade de educação virtual de qualidade por tanto tempo, como imposta pela pandemia de covid-19. Finalmente, este artigo conclui apontando as limitações e o alcance da pesquisa para analisar aspectos relacionados à equidade educacional e, assim, contribuir para a possibilidade de desenhar políticas que impliquem melhorias no acesso à educação.
