description | There is growing conflict between state logic of use and exploitation of nature and the need for the State itself to generate an economic surplus or profits that make it possible to satisfy the demands of the population. On the other hand, tensions persist between the State’s rational and the economic, social and political rights of local communities. That conflict and tension require the search for various types of balance and agreements that, given the recent history of Ecuador, appear to be distant. This text, in the course of its three brief sections, is an attempt to trace some elements that will contribute to collective, critical and urgent reflection on this subject. |

There is growing conflict between state logic of use and exploitation of nature and the need for the State itself to generate an economic surplus or profits that make it possible to satisfy the demands of the population.
