Sumario: | This investigation focuses on an analysis, using the theoretical spectrum offered by geopolitical criticism, of a number of discourses present within their bilateral relationship, which have degenerated per se into different geopolitical visions between Chile and Peru. This has led to the establishment of a kind of geopolitical ethos, its major element being a strong perception on both sides of constant competition and conflict, which modifies both internal and external circumstances in each. And while various elements of cooperation are observable in bilateral relations discourse, these are sidelined thanks to a mutual discursive tendency to maximize the negative and minimize the positive in their contemporary history.
