| description | The objective of this research is to explore the economic characteristics of the productive winegrowing system in Mendoza (Argentina) in a context of globalization in order to uncover the difference between the local technosphere and ecosphere. In a context of worldwide socioenvironmental crisis it is imperative to conduct an integral analysis of the productive system at all scales that seeks to redesign the technosphere within the current bio-physical limits. In order to accomplish this task, tools that stem from currents of critical environmental thinking, such as ecological economy and environmental history, were employed. The selected methodology is based on the triangulation of qualitative information, using documentary sources and specialized bibliography, with quantitative data from statistical official sources. The results demonstrate a divergent evolution in the past 30 years between this activity and regional development in terms of the pursuit of social wellbeing. The rent accumulation in the commercialization sector and increased possession of land by entrepreneurs is highlighted. In a parallel way, the intensification of the environmental impact and the downturn of the economic and social aspects can be observed as well. |

La presente investigación tiene como objetivo indagar sobre las características económicas del sistema productivo vitivinícola de Mendoza (Argentina) en un contexto de globalización, con el fin de develar los desfases entre la tecnosfera y la ecosfera local. En un contexto de crisis socioambiental mundial, resulta imperativo el análisis integral de los sistemas productivos en todas las escalas, con miras a pensar un rediseño de la tecnosfera que encaje en los límites biofísicos actuales. Para ello, se utilizan las herramientas teóricas provenientes de las corrientes del pensamiento ambiental crítico como son la economía ecológica y la historia ambiental. La metodología seleccionada se basa en la triangulación de datos cualitativos mediante el uso de fuentes documentales y bibliografía especializada, con datos cuantitativos de fuentes estadísticas oficiales. Los resultados evidencian una evolución divergente en los últimos 30 años entre esta actividad y el desarrollo regional, en términos de persecución del bien social. Se destaca la acumulación de la renta en el sector comercialización y la posesión de la tierra por parte de capitales cada vez mayores. De manera paralela, se observa la intensificación del impacto ambiental y una depresión de los aspectos económicos y sociales. O objetivo desta pesquisa é indagar sobre as características econômicas do sistema de produção de vinho de Mendoza (Argentina) em um contexto de globalização, com a finalidade de revelar a lacuna entre a tecnosfera e o ecossistema local. Em um contexto de crise socioambiental global, é imprescindível a análise integral dos sistemas produtivos em todas as escalas, com o objetivo de pensar um redesenho da tecnosfera que se enquadre nos atuais limites biofísicos. Para isso, são utilizadas as ferramentas teóricas das correntes do pensamento ambiental crítico, como são a economia ecológica e a história ambiental. A metodologia selecionada baseia-se na triangulação de dados qualitativos, por meio do uso de fontes documentais e bibliografia especializada, com dados quantitativos de fontes estatísticas oficiais. Os resultados mostram uma evolução divergente nos últimos 30 anos entre essa atividade e o desenvolvimento regional, em termos da procura pelo bem social. Destacam-se a acumulação de renda no setor de comercialização e a posse da terra por parte de capitais em crescimento. Paralelamente, observa-se a intensificação do impacto ambiental e uma depressão dos aspectos econômicos e sociais.
