This article explores how, though the discourse of sustainability imposed by international organizations, the advancement of capital has been allowed in protected natural areas. The amplification of capital is made possible thanks to the policies of a capitalist system that have become strengthened by the current neoliberal project, where the States permits the dispossession of natural resources of indigenous peoples, yielding their control to private interests that aim to increase their capital through an economic activity, such as tourism. This process is studied drawing from a theoretical proposal of three dynamics of accumulation of capital in protected natural areas: penetration, subsumption, and enclosure. |

En esta investigación se analiza la manera en que el turismo ha funcionado como un medio para facilitar la acumulación de capital dentro de la Reserva de la Biosfera Sian Ka’an, Quintana Roo, México. Se explora cómo, mediante el discurso de la sustentabilidad impuesto por las organizaciones internacionales, se ha permitido el avance del capital en las áreas naturales protegidas. Esta ampliación del capital es posible gracias a las políticas del sistema capitalista que se han visto recrudecidas por el proyecto neoliberal actual, donde los Estados permiten el despojo de los recursos naturales a las poblaciones originarias, cediendo su control a intereses privados que, a partir de una actividad económica como el turismo, buscan ampliar su capital. Este proceso es estudiado a partir de la propuesta teórica de tres dinámicas de acumulación de capital dentro de las áreas naturales protegidas: penetración, subsunción y cercamientos. Esta pesquisa analisa a maneira como o turismo tem funcionado como um meio para facilitar a acumulação de capital dentro da Reserva de Biosfera Sian Ka'an, Quintana Roo, México. Explora-se como, através do discurso de sustentabilidade imposto pelas organizações internacionais, foi permitido o avanço do capital em áreas naturais protegidas. Esta ampliação do capital é possível graças a políticas do sistema capitalista que têm sido acentuadas pelo projeto neoliberal atual, onde os Estados permitem o saque dos recursos naturais das populações originárias, cedendo o controle a interesses privados que, a partir de uma atividade econômica como o turismo, busca expandir seu capital. Este processo é estudado a partir da proposta teórica de três dinâmicas de acumulação de capital dentro de áreas naturais protegidas: penetração, subsunção e cerceamentos.
