El artículo presenta una revisión de los estudios sobre la migración en Ecuador durante el período 1960-2016. Aborda los principales debates que han marcado estos estudios, los contextos de producción académica y la forma en que las migraciones y sus condiciones sociales y económicas han influido en la constitución y orientaciones del campo. Tres etapas atraviesan la producción académica: una primera donde las migraciones internas se abordan a partir de un análisis sobre fenómenos espaciales; una segunda que se ocupa de los vínculos entre transformaciones agrarias y migración; y una tercera que presenta una transición desde un resurgimiento de la migración en la literatura hasta recientes estudios que abordan la diversificación de las movilidades en el país. O artigo apresenta uma revisão de estudos sobre a migração no Equador durante o período 1960-2016. Aborda os principais debates que tem marcado estes estudos, os contextos de produção acadêmica e a forma em que as migrações e as suas condições sociais e econômicas tem influenciado na formação e orientação do campo. Três etapas atravessam a produção acadêmica: uma primeira em que as migrações internas são abordadas a partir de uma análise sobre fenômenos espaciais; uma segunda que se ocupa dos vínculos entre transformações agrícolas e migração; e uma terceira que apresenta uma transição desde um ressurgimento da migração na literatura até estudos recentes sobre a diversificação das mobilidades no país.
