Junto con el crecimiento de la migración internacional durante los últimos 20 años en Chile, se observa un incremento sostenido de investigaciones y publicaciones científicas. Este interés académico ha permitido el desarrollo de un campo de estudios que se caracteriza, como todo campo, por una cierta acumulación de conocimiento, diversificación temática, discusión teórica, aproximaciones desde distintas disciplinas y delimitación de ciertos contornos. El interés de este artículo es analizar la producción científica sobre migración en Chile durante este período, utilizando dos aproximaciones: una temática y otra analítica. En los resultados de este trabajo, se reflexiona sobre el modo en que se construye la categoría de migración desde el campo de las ciencias sociales en el país y se plantea una agenda temática posible para futuras investigaciones. Junto com o crescimento da migração internacional nos últimos 20 anos no Chile, observa-se um aumento contínuo de investigações e publicações científicas. Este interesse acadêmico tem permitido o desenvolvimento de um campo de estudos que se caracteriza, como qualquer campo, por um certo acúmulo de conhecimento, diversificação temática, discussão teórica, abordagens desde diferentes disciplinas e delimitação de certos contornos. O interesse deste artigo é analisar a produção científica sobre migração no Chile durante este período, utilizando duas abordagens: uma temática e outra analítica. Nos resultados deste trabalho, se examina sobre a forma em que se constrói a categoria de migração desde o campo das ciências sociais no país e se propõe uma agenda temática possível para futuras pesquisas.
