En este artículo se estudia el desplazamiento de sectores populares en el Centro Histórico de la Ciudad de México como parte del proceso de gentrificación en dicho espacio. En particular, se analiza una forma de desplazamiento que el autor denomina: “el desplazamiento en los horizontes populares de lo posible” y que supone una reinterpretación situada –desde las características de los procesos de gentrificación en Latinoamérica y del trabajo de campo antropológico– del concepto de “desplazamiento por exclusión” propuesto por Peter Marcuse. Se examina el desplazamiento a través del acercamiento etnográfico a algunos itinerarios residenciales que dan cuenta de condiciones heterogéneas de construcción de arraigo por los sectores populares durante la segunda mitad del siglo XX y de la revisión de la permanencia o desaparición de dichas condiciones en el contexto contemporáneo. Neste artigo estuda-se o deslocamento de setores populares no Centro Histórico da Cidade do México, como parte do processo de gentrificação neste espaço. Particularmente, analisa-se uma forma de deslocamento que o autor denomina: “o deslocamento nos horizontes populares do possível” e que supõe uma reinterpretação situada – desde as características dos processos de gentrificação na América Latina e do trabalho de campo antropológico – do conceito de “deslocamento por exclusão” proposto por Peter Marcuse. Examina-se o deslocamento através da aproximação etnográfica a alguns itinerários residenciais que dão conta de condições heterogêneas de construção do apego pelos setores populares durante a segunda metade do século XX e da revisão da permanência ou desaparecimento de ditas condições no contexto contemporâneo.
