El artículo analiza la confluencia entre antipolítica y populismo en la última coyuntura electoral en el Ecuador. Se discute el concepto de neopopulismo para describir nuevas lógicas de intermediación entre electores y ofertas políticas que no calzan en el concepto tradicional de populismo. Se analizan los cambios experimentados en el sistema de partidos por efecto de la emergencia del fenómeno antipolítico. Finalmente, se delinean posibles escenarios para la coyuntura post-electoral, en el contexto de la demanda de reforma política que permanece pendiente desde la revuelta de abril de 2005.
