Sumario:This article approaches the presidential elections of 2006 in Ecuador from the analysis of the stages and principal actors. Besides the two finalists candidates, Rafael Correa and Álvaro Noboa (with offers and antagonistic conceptions of the country), the elections had as protagonists to a suspicious Supreme Electoral Court, the surveys of intention of vote, with idealized models, and to mass media appearing in proselytizing activities. These actors were interrelated into two stages in the electoral process: one of status quo and one of political reform.
