Sumario:Democratic legitimacy needs to be built in order to be gotten and need to be constantly renovated in order to be maintained. But, when government performance is opposed to political discourse, legitimacy gotten through vote is destroyed. It was the case of Lucio Gutiérrez, whose performance as president was far away from the imaginary and the narratives that he built as candidate during the electoral process. Thereby, his legitimacy was shattered, and it lead to the named rebelión de los forajidos.
