En este artículo se presenta una revisión crítica de la propuesta del sumak kawsay, suma qamaña o buen vivir, subrayando su indefinición conceptual, la idealizada concepcióndel mundo rural andino en la cual parece inspirarse y su falta de coherencia con las políticas macroeconómicas impulsadas hasta el momento por los Gobiernos boliviano y ecuatoriano.
