Sumario: | This article analyzes how academic hegemonic literature on issues surrounding the military studies on the transitions of different political regimes, and civil-military relations does not allow for an investigation on the inter-force field. In this respect, the relevance of “jointness” in Argentine history leads to a number of questions that cannot be tackled using either one of those different approaches. Employing a critical revision of the concept “civil control,” this article proposes a conceptual redefinition in order to move forward on the quest for an adequate analytical instrument that allows for enquiring into areas that have been neglected by traditional research. |
