| description | This article determines the importance of the highway to Llano (Bogotá-Villavicencio) in the development plans and public investment during the National Front, the political pact of power alternation of the Liberal and Conservative parties in Colombia between 1958 and 1974. Three national development are reviewed for this purpose: the Economic and Social Development Plan, Development Plans and, and the Four Strategies Program. The layout and reconstruction of the road highlights the discussion on the role of Villavicencio as the most emblematic city/capital of the Llanos, the scope of the regional economy, the impact of internal migration, the absence of national planning and the failed attempt of road modernization. It is concluded that there was a delay in the planning of the road to the Llanos Orientales and little interest in regional issues on the part of the National Front governments. |

Este artículo determina la importancia que tuvo la vía al Llano (Bogotá-Villavicencio) en los planes de desarrollo y la inversión pública durante el Frente Nacional, pacto político de alternancia en el poder de los partidos Liberal y Conservador en Colombia entre 1958 y 1974. Se revisa el Plan de Desarrollo Económico y Social, Planes y Programas de Desarrollo y el Plan de Las Cuatro Estrategias. El trazado y reconstrucción de la vía subraya el debate entre el rol que adquirió Villavicencio como la ciudad más emblemática de los Llanos, la economía regional, el impacto de la migración interna, la ausencia de una planificación nacional y el fallido intento por una modernización vial. Se concluye que hubo rezago en la planificación de la vía al Llano y escaso interés de lo regional por parte de los Gobiernos del Frente Nacional.
