| description | This article reflects on the role of traditional technologies from the cultural, human and meaning construction approach provided by organizational anthropology. It is considered that the use of technologies has left aside traditional technologies linked to ancestral knowledge as an object of study. The ethnographic approach exposes new and future elements of research; likewise, this study reviewed relevant literature and documents from Andean, indigenous and Kichwas authors. Results suggest that traditional technologies are necessary to implement an alternative productive process that considers the human factor, which improves or adapts technologies to the labour framework. In conclusion, this research provide different answers to understanding what traditional technologies and what are their contributions. |

Este artículo reflexiona el rol de las tecnologías tradicionales desde el enfoque cultural, humano y de construcción de sentidos que proporciona la antropología organizacional. Se considera que el uso de las tecnologías ha dejado de lado a las tecnologías tradicionales ligadas al saber ancestral como objeto de estudio. El enfoque etnográfico expone nuevos y futuros elementos de investigación; así mismo, a partir de un análisis de documentos y bibliografía —que incluye a autores andinos, indígenas y kichwas— se concluye que las tecnologías tradicionales son necesarias para el proceso productivo alternativo y que el factor humano mejora o adapta a las tecnologías de acuerdo con el entramado laboral. En conclusión, la investigación brinda respuestas sobre cómo entender la construcción del sentido de las tecnologías tradicionales y sus aportes a la organización.
