Sumario: | The aim of this article is to analyze the factors that made possible the discursive consensus between the Ecuadorian press and the Government of Lenín Moreno. In this regard, the news, editorials and opinion articles in the nationwide circulation newspapers El Comercio and El Telégrafo, published during the referendum and the popular consultation of 2018 electoral campaigns, were taken into consideration. In terms of theoretical and methodological approach, this study proposes a critical analysis of discourse in order to problematize the different discursive strategies by which the written press legitimized or delegitimize the repertories of political actors. Finally, this article presents how both newspapers supported the reach and advantages of the proposed questions by the Executive.
