Here, elements that make possible the comprehension of the current context of the observed territory stand out, for which a sketch of the history of the locality was made, and three key points in which the armed groups had an impact were developed: the configuration of the space, the social relations and the political participation Este artículo abarca el periodo comprendido entre 1990 y 2010, cuando las acciones de grupos armados, en la parte alta de San Cristóbal, fueron más evidentes y tuvieron el objetivo de mantener el control territorial, principalmente sobre las vías de comunicación con otros municipios. Aquí se destacan elementos que posibilitan la comprensión del contexto actual del territorio observado, para lo cual se hace un esbozo de la historia de la localidad y se desarrollan tres puntos clave en los que incidieron los grupos armados: configuración del espacio, relaciones sociales y participación política.
