| Sumario: | This article considers the period understood between 1990 and 2010, when the actions of armed groups in the high ground of San Cristóbal were clearer in order to keep territorial control, especially over the routes of communication with other municipalities. Here, elements that make possible the comprehension of the current context of the observed territory stand out, for which a sketch of the history of the locality was made, and three key points in which the armed groups had an impact were developed: the configuration of the space, the social relations and the political participation
