Sumario:This article postulates reflections on recognition and agonism  as categories of the basic political philosophy to mitigate the  modern Socio-political conflicts, as it supposes, from the ethic perspective, an ideal reciprocal relationship among those  who belong to a society. As a consequence, the reiterated contempt between people tends to be one of  the essential condi- tions of  why a person’s dignity is harmed, leading in numerous  occasions to a violent response. Therefore, if  we understand  recognition as a social value that contributes to people’s self  fulfilment and dignity, and agonism as a new way to assume  democracy, these categories could be postulated as ethical and  political strategies to resolution Colombia’s conflicts
