Sumario:Based on the marketplace narrative potential in memory studies, the research from which this article is derived inquired about the living memory of Corabastos: an atypical and almost forgotten square by the national academy, which has also been traversed continually by violence. For this, an ethnomethodological strategy was developed together with participant observation and life stories as techniques for data collection, from which it was concluded that there are indeed memorial anchors between violent phenomena present today and the place history, as well as in the life trajectory of its inhabitants, regarding the daily and Central de abastos de Bogotá representative trades. Likewise, that the latter end up configuring an entire symbolic system that narrates past violence and that provides its practitioners with tools to survive it as part of their daily lives.
