Sumario:This systematic review study seeks to determine if psychosocial interventions based on free artistic expression that aimes and promote resilient coping of stressful situations, have scientific validity. The shortlisted sample considered 50 studies published between 2010 and 2021 in databases as MEDLINE, ProQuest Central, PubMed, Science Direct and Trip Data base. The search included terms such as: “Art”, “artistic expression”, “Resilience”, “Positive coping”, “children and adolescents” and “psychosocial care” and its translation in Spanish. After the review, 47 publications was added, 27 of them was scientific articles, 13 guidelines or institutional manuals published by WHO, UNESCO, and others; 5 systematic reviews and 3 undergraduate theses. The analysis of results was done through the systematic narrative review to identify the advances and effects generated with scientific evidence in order to calculate the level of effectiveness. In conclusion, artistic action allows the symbolic expression and emotions relief (such as fear and sadness) through allegorical forms that recall and facilitate the reconstruction of painful and positive memories that motivates the beginning of a resilient life. Many of these studies reviewed show limitations in the valid psychometrically instruments existence to assess the real scope of artistic action.
